My name is Malcolm Douglas, and I have been accepted into a work-study program at Techdesigno. I enjoy working at a company where I learn new skills, such as designing functional websites. I learned a basic overview of website design and focused on design rather than functionality when building them.
In 2022, I graduated from the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut with a Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design and New Media. I would like to thank Nadine, Founder of Nassan’s Place, for recommending Techdesigno. After answering questions and completing an interview, I secured the internship and gained deeper insight into website design and functionality. Since I had only learned the bare-bones concepts in school, this internship opened my eyes to web development.
I’ve been collaborating as a web developer on one of Techdesigno’s most important projects: the redevelopment of techdesigno.com. As part of this project, I have been migrating web pages and blog posts to the new WordPress website platform. This includes implementing SEO-specific tactics on every web page.
I’ve been doing e training from WordPress but more hands-on experience, step-by-step process, than just video tutorials, and I’ve grasped it in a span of a week, and use a sandbox website to play around with the program and the plug-ins trail and error where I can use the office desktop or at home with my laptop to experiment with the sandbox website. I learn more about AI, how sophisticated and evolving the software is, and how to balance it with my technical skills to coexist seamlessly.
