Techdesigno Opens Up About AI’s Impact On Online Marketing And Social Media

AI impact on web design and online marketing is transforming how businesses build websites, reach customers, and adapt to emerging digital technologies. When Techdesigno first opened its doors in 1995, the internet looked very different from what we know today. At that time, most websites were extremely limited in both styling and functionality.

“It was very limiting when it came to styling and design,” recalls John Mitrano, founder of Techdesigno, in an exclusive interview with NJnewjersey.com.

“The World Wide Web, as it was commonly known when it first became public in 1993, was still in its infancy,” Mitrano explains. “Web page designs were very crude and elementary back then. However, I enjoyed researching and experimenting with technology that could help create better designs, not just for the beauty of a website, but for functionality as well.”

That curiosity and passion for innovation became the foundation of Techdesigno and continues to shape the company today.

The Importance of Design and Functionality Working Together

Over the years, Mitrano has learned that a successful website is not defined by appearance alone. It must strike a balance between visual design and navigational ease. A website should guide users intuitively while delivering a strong visual identity.

This philosophy is something Mitrano consistently shares with his students and clients. He believes it is essential to understand how a website works behind the scenes. Knowing how design, structure, and technology connect is just as important as how a website looks on the surface.

Although Techdesigno’s physical office is located in West Orange, New Jersey, the company works with clients across the United States, helping businesses build websites that are scalable, functional, and future ready.

A Strong Local Presence with Nationwide Reach

Techdesigno is deeply connected to the local community. John Mitrano was recently elected as a West Orange Chamber of Commerce board member of trustees, reinforcing the company’s commitment to supporting local businesses.

In addition, Techdesigno manages the website and digital online marketing efforts for the Livingston Chamber of Commerce, helping local organizations strengthen their online presence.

From small businesses to established organizations, Techdesigno supports clients at every stage of the web design and digital marketing process. This includes website development, product photography, video production, search engine optimization, and search engine marketing strategies.

As Mitrano explains, having a website alone is no longer enough.

“The types of customers we service understand that just having a website will not grow their business. People need to be able to find you online. If a website cannot be found, it might as well not exist.”

Social Media Marketing: Quality Over Quantity

With the rise of social media, many new clients approach Techdesigno unsure of which platforms they should focus on. Mitrano encourages businesses to think strategically rather than chasing every trend.

“Some business owners are attracted to the sheer number of users on platforms like TikTok,” he says. “But that is not always the most important factor. What matters more is reaching people in your actual market who need your product or service.”

For example, a local coffee shop in New Jersey may gain views from users in other states, but those views do not always translate into meaningful business results.

“You want to focus on messaging a quality marketplace,” Mitrano explains. “Communicate with people who are most likely to benefit from what you offer and are willing to buy.”

The Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Web Design and Marketing

The internet has always been a living and evolving platform, but artificial intelligence has accelerated change faster than ever before.

When OpenAI introduced large language models such as ChatGPT to the public in November 2022, adoption happened at a remarkable pace. AI quickly became part of daily workflows for individuals and businesses alike.

AI is a generative technology that helps businesses brainstorm ideas, streamline data processing, and improve productivity. When used correctly, it can lead to greater efficiency and long term growth.

Mitrano compares AI to an ongoing conversation.

“AI builds on existing information. Over time, more insight is gained, similar to how understanding grows through conversation.”

Helping Businesses Integrate AI the Right Way

For Techdesigno, AI represents an opportunity to guide businesses that want to integrate new technology responsibly. The company now works as a consultant for organizations looking to incorporate AI into their existing marketing workflows.

“It usually starts with a conversation,” Mitrano explains. “We are focusing on AI tools that support marketing efforts. We are not looking at accounting or bookkeeping applications.”

Rather than replacing existing processes, Mitrano believes AI should complement them.

“We need to be open to new ideas and see how they fit into our current workflows. If businesses do not adapt, they risk losing their competitive edge.”

Ethical Considerations and the Future of AI

While optimistic about AI’s potential, Mitrano also raises concerns about ethics, particularly around content creation and imagery.

“My biggest concern involves intellectual property,” he cautions. “Sometimes people may unknowingly use copyrighted material, and that can create serious issues.”

Despite these concerns, Mitrano believes AI is here to stay.

“This is a pivotal moment in the marketplace. Over the next one to three years, we will likely see the full promise of AI take shape. Our hope is that it will be used responsibly and for positive growth.”
